Living and studying in London is something to be excited about. Being in one of the world's most important cities opens up so many different opportunities. Not least are the exceptional events, many free of charge, that are held at around some of the top institutions and venues of London. Below is a selection of where we at Medsin have found some of the best events to be. 1. London School of Economics: events page
The LSE have a history of hosting some of the best events around London. With regular visits by world leaders and global powers, there'll always be something exciting to see. Their themes are some of the most important in the world today. If you ever want to see a world class event, just have a look at the LSE. You'll just have to read their events listings to see what we mean.
2. UCL Institute For Global Health: events page
"The underlying philosophy of our work is that the solutions to achieving sustained long-term health improvement reside equally in all our faculties, from the arts and humanities, built environment, engineering and law, to basic and applied biomedical sciences."
3. The Frontline Club: events page
The Frontline Club is a hub for international journalism and has a special focus on stories and issues that are not constantly being thrown into the eye of the public. They hold lectures, panel debates and film screenings some very exciting issues in the world today. Many of their events are themed on conflict around the world but they also run events on many different themes like human rights, or refugees, or country case studies.
4. The Global Development Forum: website
Coordinated by Dr Benny Dembitzer, the GDF is a centre for discussion, education and debate on issues in development today. Since being founded it has become one of the most important platforms for global development discussion today, and runs events every Wednesday.
